近些年来，随着经济和社会的发展，妇女和女童的权利越来越得到保障。全世界女性的生活质量正在提高。但是情况也没有我们预想的那么乐观，在世界各地仍然有各种的程度对女性的不同形式的压迫。尤其是新冠疫情期间，很多女性被迫选择家庭，很多女童也因此失去上学的机会。今天我们就来看看为什么要保障女性权利，为什么女孩应该读书，新冠对此有什么影响？

1.Atbest充其量最多

大多数药或者没有真正疗效，或者最多也就是稍有疗效。

Atworst在最坏的情况下

Itcanbequitedangerous,atworstperhapsevendeadly.

它相当危险，甚至可能致命的

Atbest还可以引申表示在最好的状态

Iamnotatmybesttoday.我今天不在最佳状态。

2.Subordinate下级的，级别或者职位较低的次要的

Theminorityissubordinatetothemajority.少数服从多数

Subordinatestaff/body下属附属机构

反义词senior/superior近义词inferior

Superior和inferior还可以表示优于或者劣于

Heissuperiortoothersinunderstanding.

3.few表示几乎没有

这句话的意思为没有人觉得教育女孩可以创造价值。

afew少数的在阅读或者翻译过程中一定要记住这一点。

同时还有一个点大家容易忽略那就是不定代词与部分否定

不定代词all/both/every等与not连用时构成部分否定例如：

Allstudentsarenotgirls=notallthestudentsaregirls.

不是所有的学生都是女生

Bothshoesarenotnice.

其实并不是指两双鞋都好看，而是说可能一双好看，一双不好看

否定词的位置不影响部分否定的效果！

若想表示全部否定则应该用none,neither,noone等

上面的句子可以变成

Noneofthestudentsaregirls.没有一个学生是女生

Neitheroftheshoesarenice.这两双鞋都不好看
